I don't think they'd go THAT far into realism for Standard mode for squad sizes. I could see it happening in Hardcore, but again, balancing issues. Oh, and you can upgrade a medic for the Marines airborne (forgot the name) squad.

Re: Wish List
If anything, I'd go with a more generalized Desigated Marksman rifle, maybe an M16 modified with a low-power scope (aside from the ACOG or EOTECH). It wouldn't really do much aside from being a VERY accurate rifleman. Having that Deploy Marksman ability would undermine the Combat Engineers for the US.

Re: Wish List
due to the way the engine works, it's not advisable to have a squad with more than 6 men total. Generally a unit of rifleman/marine unit represent a fireteam rather than a full squad.
with one m203, one m249, and the first aid upgrade, a rifleman unit pretty much have the standard leader/grenadier/machinegunner/rifleman/medic loadout. It's generally advise that you buy one m203 and one m249 as their function work together very well.

Oh goody a wish list. Lets see. I wish someone would skin my M60 so I didn't have to do it.
On the M60 topic. The US Army have over 800 in mothballs, I think were they to goto war on any large scale they would use whatever they have, including those.
The M113 is still in use in Medical and recovery roles aswell as the engineering variants. The US army still has over 6000 of the things in use not to mention that the US Air force use them as security vehicles. So in all honesty, nothing is obsolete till the last vehicle is withdrawn from service. The british army was still using centurians in gulf war 1 as engineering units plus stop gap anti tank unit. It all entuirely depends on the situation and on what is available for deployment. If the US had problem getting 5.56 ammunition to its units , but had an abundance of 7.62 you would soon see a large number of m60 squad weapons reappear instead of saws .

Agreed. The PLA in ModernCombat is actually using everything they have - towed AT gun, old-fashioned APC, 60-year-old MBT, and outdated RPG-7.
And also, many of my friends are wondering where are those "Modern" Chinese weapons (such as wheeled IFV, guided antitank missile, and etc) has gone to.

Yes, in mothballs. That means no one is training with them and no one is producing parts for them. It's quite a different story learning how to fire a different crew serve versus learning how to maintain, crew, maneuver and effectively employ a tank. I'm not opposed to seeing it as a US vehicle, but not as a complete replacement in one of the US factions. That just wouldn't make sense. Maybe make it a reward vehicle or something.
Besides, it was mentioned as a replacement for the Marine Corps' MBT. That, I can tell you, would not happen. We'd rather have training on the "wrong" equipment, than no training on the "right" equipment. Also, as you pointed out, the Army has those in storage, not us.

Re: Wish List
Yeah the Patton seems to be out of place in China imo, it may be something that would be pulled into middle east just for mass effectiveness against similar tanks of the era, China would probably be en masse too but if you consider there lack of high technology in their department would as portrayed have the abrams beat anything they put on except for their latest outings beeing the ZTZ99 and of course assault helicopters like the Z10 (that beeing significantly feared by US). Most of the chinese equipment has no laser guided aim or component replacement parts like the US have. Basically anything that was before 1980 would be cold war. Even the Abrams from 1979 is just enhanced on a new level and has just become modern again with all the new techs. Pretty much the same as the Brits with the Challenger, although I'd give the Challenger the Edge if it goes Tank vs. Tank against Abrams. I can on the other hand understand that it'd be probably be their defensive backbone on the Westcoast if the front would be shifting (Alaska, City defense), much of the same harm as in the cold war where both US and Soviet put out insane numbers of both Pattons and T54s they all seem so unflexible compared to the newer sleek driving set they have now.
Any of those pre 1970 designs were more like heavy fortresses whereas Leopard(1979), Abrams(1980), T72(1972), Type98(1998) are flat and fast, best protection is not beeing hit rather than beeing hit whilst with thick armor. So able to avoid hits with movement is better than substain hits and keep going. Much like the Kingtiger that if it gets anhilated on all sides is weaker than a Panther that could evade and reform in a better position. Air Forces remain a big factor and the Patton would be quite hard to use as first in first out before the air defense is on.
US without a heavy APC comes probably from shifting tank vs. tank to tank vs. infantry/air raids, quite why TUSK is funny abbreviate for The US King and Bradley is favoured against feet and air threats.
US and PLA will likely remain up modern standards while others like IDF have refused to modernize with more Merkavas instead of the old Magach. Even surroundings like the Koreans are getting up standards with the K1A1 and K2 Black Panther(although on hold due to propelling system issues from Hyundai) beeing evolved Abrams/Leopard designs. Turkey/Israel/Egypt, having many Pattons, in service were looking for modernizations on their own rather than accepting the M60-2000. Sabak for example. Having Abrams Modernizations on an Ancient Design doesn't make sense if you can have new stuff for just a bit more money.
Challenger and Leclerc beeing the signifcant differentials to the flat designs of the other MBTs could be interesting for both, France adding a lot of gear for chinese to buy and british to put up best D for defense as ever in assist for US Invasions. But None of them would suit into that frame as France is a loyal NATO entry and wouldn't spark the US and the Brits having less to earn, they even refused to make large use out of Hong Kong after the Downfall of the UDSSR *sarcasm*

Re: Wish List
China has somewhere in the region of 2400 ztz99 and around 4000 ztz96a, the latest version of the 99 on paper can alledgedly take the Abrams on . Though I suspect that to be billy bs and propaganda. the 96a and b models are quite capable of taking on the older A1 in theory. The 99 would beat that hands down on paper. But that doesn't allow for crew training or readiness. I suspect that apart from pretty parades in Beijing half these things are never used or trained on properly.
That however does not negate the fact that the Chinese have a ridiculous number of light ATGM units similar to the HJ9 and a silly amount of 85mm ,105mm and 120mm apcs. Though what quite they intend to do with these in the long run is beyond me. They are also paranoid about mobile Anti Air units, which strikes me as strange considering they have the largest airforce in the world which is supposedly ranked in the top 3 for training aswell.
However all that said, this sort of fight would not be a middle eastern skirmish, it would be to the bitter end, and I suspect the Americans would run out of equipment and manpower way before the Chinese did, and then we would be back at the stage of pushing the red button.
Britain would never get involved, we have two armoured divisions left in full time service and a standing army that is to be reduced to less then 70.000 , as it is we cannot cover our currant deployments. The rest of NATO is on the verge of EURO ruin, and broke countries do not fight multi billion Dollar wars thousands of miles from home. Especially against a nuclear power that is better equipped then they are.
In tank circles I think the old adjective of he who fires first and most accurately will prevail. The Abrams has alledgedly got one of the best targeting systems in the world. On a par to the Challanger II if not better so I suspect they would fair reasonably well until swomped by numbers and by all the anti tank missiles floating around.

Not to replace, but add it into T3 units.

Re: Wish List
They could make out new metal out of these if they want to, that beeing sad chinese would probably blast out communication equipment, it just would be probably that US will shred their Satellites to tin cans as they cover anything. Chinese have large amounts of jets but I'd think that they aren't as advanced as US and Russian in that terms so Top 3 seems fair although if european countries would bring it together properly they can do harm them.
I'd rather think that Chinese would put on another Red Flood of infantry just because they can CMND&CTRL with their communism. That would to me be a huge factor, because feet can "go" where tracks can't "drive".
I'd question where would russia stand when this actually happens. With the pocket or against the nemesis.
