Is there anything planned/developed for those, chinese ambient music would be probably pretty cool for those subtile backround song during the game. Even the US seems outworn to be considered "modern".

We have custom music but we can't find where the game loads the sounds from. It must be hardcoded somewhere.

I had a quick look at my archives and omg mod atleast has the winning and loosing sounds somehow in the archive so that'd make it possible I guess. I'm trying to add and change those for use in MC :P

Okay managed to make ogg->wav->smf and smf->mp3 aswell as getting a .bsc file for the reimport of the smf, however I'm not sure how to add those to the specific locations or moreover repack it properly, seems I can only edit text files of what's in the sga file but I cannot replace or add onto those, neither do I get the proper path when setting up a new mod.

I only managed to get skins to appear on manufactured paths that were like the ones in vcoh but that takes away adding or replacing and of course I remember these unpacked stuff prevents online play.
My generated bsc file looks different from the one I thought i could substitute.
china_vict.bsc from MC uses Music\OMG\UI_Music\PANZER_VICTORY and that comes from vcoh I know the path and have extracted the smf from there - deal
However my newly generated file only appears as panzer_victory.bsc with panzer_victory, so no directory or linkage whatsoever, I haven't found a way to get it into any archive at all - no deal

My next step would be trying to make a path of Sound\Music\OMG\UI_Music\PANZER_VICTORY.SMF into ...ModernCombat\Data - not sure if location is alright - dunno if DataSoundHigh may influence anything.

You just need to stick the music .smf file in the same location as the original to overwrite. DataSoundHigh is the folder you should use as we load custom music from there.

so .smf is straight .wav with added hexcode at the beginning with no link to .bsc other than the filename ? I'll try :)

you can just use the .smf converter should be easier. You don't need to touch the .bsc as long as your rename your .smf to replace the right one

I've put it anywhere I could think of - seems I suck.

...\ModernCombat\Data\sound\wav\music\omg\ui_music
...\ModernCombat\DataSoundHigh\sound\wav\music\omg\ui_music
...\Data\sound\wav\music\omg\ui_music

However the A10_attack.bsc from ModernCombat\DataSoundHigh\sound\NewModernCombat\ui has path as newmoderncombat\ui\A10strafe but A10strafe.smf lies in newmoderncombat\weapons\ui :geek:

Aunt Edit:
renaming panzer_lost.smf to china_lost.smf did the trick although I just cannot make it up why it works this way - to hell with the logic - up with the pinball mindset :D

Edit 2: Somehow it doesn't play all the time, it loads default pretty often but ocassionally it loads the changed - weird

Probably because the .bsc file points to more than one .smf
We have edited some .bsc files for our own needs, so you may need to check the paths.

To be frank, the way relic setup their sounds is a complete mess and mindfuck. Without proper tools it is just a nightmare to work with.
