Where to install patches?

Hi all.
I am a tad confused as to where the patches are exracted to, do you extract to the modern combat folder inside the company of heroes relaunch, or do you just extract to the company of heroes relaunch folder.

Also could somone give me a full example of what to put in the target part of the shortcut creation.

The Company of Heroes Relaunch folder (eg. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes Relaunch").

As for the shortcut, if you've linked it to a .bat file then you shouldn't need to add anything to the target line.

However although everything is up to date and I have installed where specified it is still behaiving as if I have not installed the hotfix.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you install patches 1.017 and 1.018 in consecutive order?

And did you download 1.018 before 22/01/14? If so, then you need to move the following files from your CoH root folder into your ModernCombat folder and overwrite when prompted:
- Modern Combat Launcher.bat
- Modern Combat Launcher Cheat Mode.bat

I did install in consectutive order, and I downloaded 1.018 yesterday.

Hmmm. Just to clarify... when you click on the .bat file (or the shortcut), the game launches and then almost instantly crashes?

Exactly which directory did you extract the .rar files to? Were you prompted to overwrite existing files?

I was prompted to overwrite and selected yes to all.

I extracted the.rar files to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes Relaunch, and when I select the .bat file the game checks for updates says everything is up to date, and a steam message comes up saying that is starting to run company of heroes (new steam version). This message dissapears and nothing happens. It is not running as I am able to try again almost immediatly and the same thing happens.

Hotfix 1.018 definitely hasn't taken effect then; one of the other things it does is bypass the updater.

Something hasn't gone right during your installation process, although I can't put my finger on what exactly. Try extracting the patches again. If that doesn't work, then re-download and re-extract 1.018 (it's under 2 MB).

Hi I found the problem was that for some reason winRAR was extracting files straight to desktop. It has been sorted out though.
I must also say this is the best mod for any game I have played and I am thankful that the problem has been sorted.
