Can't run the mod
I've installed Steam and installed the mod successfully. However, and this probably doesn't have to do with the mod, Steam won't update and won't let me run the mod. I've tried a number of methods and still can't get Steam to work. Is there a way to bypass Steam? Or has anyone run into this problem and solved it?

Re: Can't run the mod
What exactly happens when you try to run Steam?
Re: Can't run the mod
It won't update, giving me the fatal error sign, needing to connect to the internet to complete the update. Sometimes it starts updating, downloads a certain amount of data, the least being 1,000 kb and the most being 40,000 kb (the total is like 92,000 kb), and then gives me the "fatal error" message. After that, it just shuts down. I've tried reinstalling it, shutting down my antivirus and deleting everything but the .exe and bin folder, but nothing changes. It's not my internet connection, that works just fine. Any ideas of what it may be, or how I can bypass steam?

There are no auto updates yet, so I don't know what update you are talking about?

He means Steam, not MC.
Try re-downloading Steam mate, it may be a corrupt install. Simply re-installing won't fix it if there's something inherently wrong with the files.

Fixed it! I uninstalled the steam, erased the registry keys and reinstalled it. That seemed to work, it updated on the first try. Thanks for your help guys.
