MARSOC
Hey guys,
First things first. I finally got the mod to work on Steam and it's epic stuff as always.
Now, to the point.
I played some games with the Airborne doctrine and wanted to ask you guys if 500 manpower for a 4 man squad is a not bit too expensive, especially since they don't have any hard counter to vehicles they bleed models like crazy to mortars, rocket systems, launchers and tanks I find myself gasping for Manpower. The Flak Vests are distributed among the urban doctrine so they don't really protect themselves from explosives and take full punishment. Even the Airborne are 400 manpower and have some sort of medium-hard counter(Gustav) to vehicles which adds to their survivability. I suggest something around 450 manpower.
I would also like to ask if you could maybe give the MARSOC the FN Scar? I read on the wiki that they were in use. Just to really have them feel like an unique squad. Just some suggestions.
Tell me what you think.
Kind Regards,

Well. the MARSOC squads are intended to act as Special Operations Forces and not as frontline combat troops. They are paradropped but they simply suck against PLA armour and are not meant to be used as support for advancing troops. You have Navy SEALs for that with their AT4's and Barett .50 Cal AM rifle. My tactic is to use the MARSOC to quickly cap strategic points where your main forces cannot reach and when the enemy is too focused to direct any significant units to defend.
The second main use is to attack the enemy main base. They can kill enemy garrisions and repair soldiers while others are attacking on the front. Eventually they can help in destruction themselves.
PROTIP: do not waste them trying to take down random enemy units on the frontline and do not use them without support if you are going for an open combat. For AT duty the Marines themselves fit well. 2 or 4 squads of them outfitted with SMAW's should be good, especially how they rank as "unimportant" basic infantry. This somewhat allows you to use some of them for flanking the enemy base as they are the only non-AT US infantry that has reloadable AT weapons.

Re: MARSOC
I just finished up a game, and I have to say you guys did an amazing job with the new MARSOC upgrades. I especially like the Corpsman.
Re: MARSOC
I think the MARSOC squads are in a good place.
They can't counter vehicles, true, but that grenade launcher tears through infantry like nobody's business. Also the healing ability is nice as well.
The fact that they can keep reinforcing mid-battle means that the enemy needs overwhelming infantry firepower simply to kill them or make them retreat. With a couple of squads you have an extremely powerful, extremely difficult to deal with anti-infantry force that never has to return to base. All you need are some Javelins or AT Strykers and you're good to go.

Re: MARSOC
MARSOC uses the SCAR on a limited basis. The Mk18 would be more appropriate, but that's not much of a change.

Re: MARSOC
Yeah, I changed my mind on the MARSOC. They are fine. I just need to use them in a slightly different way and they are awesome. I would still like to see a Scar in there somewhere just because I like the gun but it would just be a gimmick. I think this post can now rest in peace unless people want to share something of course.

Re: MARSOC
I really do think MARSOC should replace the SEALs, have their current abilities, plus be able to camouflage.

Re: MARSOC
What's wrong with SEALs?...
Think of GBs/SEALs as elite scout/ambush/support infantry, and then Airborne/MSOs as high-end shock troops. At first the Marine versions were there in name only for flavour (because we didn't have time for anything else), but we'd hoped to make them both unique in their own right. Like with the recent MSO changes. Hopefully we can develop the SEALs into something more unique as well.
MSOs are more expensive than Airborne but also better. Their upgrades either give them more staying power at the frontline, or the capability to root out enemies who are garrisoned or in cover (like Airborne can with M25s). They're great for spearheading assaults with as they can both take and deliver a walloping, but extremely vulnerable to snipers and vehicles (they do have an AT4 ability, but nothing permanent like the MAAWS).
Like others have said, they shouldn't operate alone unless they're going up against lone infantry units. They should always be working in tandem with other units, helping them assault enemy positions, healing them at the frontline or being supported by them.

Re: MARSOC
I've worked with Army SOF more than I've worked with SEALs, that's all. I like the SEALs in the game, just not necessarily being a Marine ability. I don't like their boonies either, haha.
I think MARSOC is about perfect for the game honestly. I've won games with just MARSOC supported by an LAV or two with engineers in them, thanks to the SARC upgrade.
