I think we should have some events here...

We make an announcement and give the community a period of time to post any remaining suggestions in the Wish List thread. Then we pick out a few that we think are best (fair and doable) and put it to a vote. Two new or revised units, skins, abilities, weapon upgrades, whatever; one each for the US and PLA.
Worth considering you think? Or too ambitious?
Totally agree with your suggestion to make poll for the community... that is good way to make this site more frequented and of course raise the community interest...
On this way you can make a poll about something that you thought add in this game or something who the community will like add for the next patch, taking account the community votes and what they think about it...
This is called marketing...
Re: I think we should have some events here...
Got an idea of new events - faction design.
As a enhanced version of wish list, every participants design a whole faction and post it here, with full tiers unit lists and (if have) commander trees. Not everyone of them needs to be achieved, but we can find some more interesting and inspiring stuff with such method.

That would be misleading though. Like we're going to add a community-selected faction.

Nope, I think there won't be misleading, and you could make it clear first. People won't mind sharing their imagination without prize.
Just to warm up the whole community, and get the activity and inspirition up.

Re: I think we should have some events here...
Better to simply create an 'idea' competition where people vote for a single change or addition, much more concise and pragmatic.
Brainstorming an entire faction is time-consuming (as you're no doubt aware), and the effort involved to submit (or even read through everything and vote) would just dissuade people from contributing. Especially if half the effort is wasted on extra faction details that won't really matter anyway.
Not to mention that with an 'idea' competition, we already have the entire "wish list" thread to draw from.
This is all conjecture for now anyway. As always, DB has the final say.

Wish list is alomst dead, this is why I'm talking about brainstorm a whole faction.
And, this is not only for contributing ideas, but also warm up the whole forum, and draw more attention from new and old players, and keep them excited while waiting for new patches.
