Online models are usually UV mapped and skinned already, which is helpful, but they may need some remodelling to bring down their tri count or some other edits. And they still need to be imported and animated. That said... I'm not the resident expert on this stuff but I'd be happy to use 3rd party models if it speeds things along.

I can not do anything more, you are the developers and only you can take the desicion to contact these guys or not... (there is nothing to lose if you talk with them)
they can obtain more experience and put one of their model inside a game....
