Some mistake on texture and model of ZTZ-96/96A

Post by South »

1. For ZTZ-96/96A, there should be an armor plate on the front of the hull as it is in picture.

But in the game, there is a T-72 style V-shaped antisurf on the front of the hull. even remove the armor plate on the front of the hull, there shouldn't have such a V-shaped antisurf.

This should be easy to fix, since the only thing needs to be modified is four texture files.

2. The chassis of ZTZ-96/96A should be shorter than ZTZ-99 like in the picture, but in the game they seems almost of the same size. It seems like we put a ZTZ-96 turret on a T-72B chassis. In fact, the scale of hidden Type 59G (should be Type 59P - G refers to "Gai(Modify), and there's are tons of modified version of Type 59) looks more like a real ZTZ-96A.

If I were picky, I might point out that the driver hatch of ZTZ-99 actually is also not correct. The position now is for ZTZ-96.

Yep, the hatch of ZTZ-99 should be in the middle, while ZTZ-96's is on the left.

However, I doubt the team will modify the models to make them accurate. In fact, the turret slope of ZBD-05 is also too vertical and the turrent is too high.

If they don't need to re-burn and re-animation, I think.

Well when we made the Type 96, it looked like our ingame model, we do have a T96G ingame which is pretty much what you are proposing. We will not change the model since we would rather there be a bigger difference between the ZTZ96 and ZTZ99 supertanks.

Long time no see DB ;)
The problem is their models of ZTZ-96 and ZTZ-99 (I'm not talking about texures) does look alike for now since they have the same size and similar chassis. There are too little differences between models of ZTZ-96 and ZTZ-99.
chassis of ZTZ-96 should be about 10% smaller than that of ZTZ-99 like in the picture 3(the turret now is OK, the problem happens on the chassis). The ZTZ-96 for now looks really like a ZTZ-99 Prototype (aka ZTZ-98) or a T-72.
In my opinion, differences on sizes will make a bigger diffence between ZTZ96 and ZTZ99.

And for T96G...did you mean T59G?

The hull length of ZTZ-99A1 is 7.2m, and which of ZTZ-96 is 6.6m. This should have made a big difference between them.
And, such small modifies would surely inspire fans who are eager for any slightly new stuffs, and a more realistic PLA would attract more fans from China - there are few games allows player to play a "real" PLA all over the world, and MC feeds them very well.

BTW, do we need to re-animation and/or reburn the rgm if we simply want to changes the scale of the model? Or can we simply done it in the OE?
I still left the burner problem there since I was working on my mathematics for 2 months...I'm going to retry after I re-install the whole system. :ugeek:
