A few ideas

First off, I haven't played the newest update yet, only the first version that implemented the USMC as a faction, so if a thought contradicts a newer implementation, my apologies.

I had a thread on the old forums asking about the decision to make MARSOC parachute into combat and if I remember correctly, it came down to a convenience of implementing them in time, which makes sense. Again, I haven't played the latest update, so I don't know if you've changed how they enter the map but my idea was to have them brought in by Little Bird. Basically, have a Little Bird come down to ground level and the MARSOC team hops off the rails. With the Little Bird models already in the game and I think this being a realistic entry for MARSOC, I thought this would add a nice bit of flavour to the Airborne doctrine.

My other idea was to allow Humvee's to transport a single squad of units. The idea, aside from realism, would be the risk vs reward of transporting some infantry faster but in a vehicle that can be lit up by anything it encounters almost (I play on hardcore).

Just a few thoughts and keep up the awesome work on this mod, it's by far my favorite of any mod for anything I've played.

With the Little Bird models already in the game and I think this being a realistic entry for MARSOC, I thought this would add a nice bit of flavour to the Airborne doctrine.

You would be surprised how long that would take me to do. I don't think it is somewhere we will invest our manpower. Yet the squad is now 5 men with a medic attached. We could implement them back into the blackhawk but I think the parachutes were to make them different to the Army team's Airborne

Personally I like the Marines coming in on parachute, makes it appealingly different than the Army airborne.

Btw I think you guys have done a fantastic job on the unique distinctions between the Green Berets/Seals, and Army Airborne/Marine Airborne squads. Well fuckin done.

That, and when I set it all up their helmets weren't appearing properly as they fast-roped. The Seahawk would also have needed a minor retexture.

It just seemed more convenient (and not that unrealistic) for them to come in by chute.

Actually, I think it would be more realistically the opposite.

The Army has rigorous Airborne training which teaches soldiers (who obtain their certification) how to parachute from an airplane into a heated combat situation.

The Marines would be more likely to come in via helicopter.

From what I'm reading online, if Marines want to obtain airborne certification, they must use the Army training regiment.

Once the obstacles I mentioned are overcome then we can deploy them from Seahawks.

Not at all. The unit in question is MARSOC, not Marine infantry. MARSOC does indeed attend Army Airborne School, but they aren't any less trained than the Army because of it. Unless something has changed, every CSO assigned to an MSOT must go through Jump School. CSOs are also trained in HALO, among other insertions. It's completely realistic, but I also think a helo insertion would be more likely for them.
