Re: Balancing US
I guess MARSOC and the 101st are simply there to provide difference between the Army and the Marines. Like the Marines fireteam and the Army fireteam. The only difference I can see between the two is that the 101st have the grenade-launcher upgrade. Both can get the MAAWS, which is my main reason for getting them (do you know what they do to infantry at vet 3 attack?!).

Marine Infantry is typically deployed ready to handle anything, where you will see the Army typically has a more specialized focus. I see nothing wrong with the way the Marine infantry works. If anything, maybe they should have a higher population hit, or cost more.
I like the way the snipers work too. The Army doesn't utilize snipers to the extent that we do, and it shows in the game. I still think Delta should make their way into the mod. They are easily the best shooters on the planet, and upgrading them with a sniper would make for a fun game.
Since this is turning into sort of a suggestion thread, would an infantry only game type be possible? I enjoy the infantry gameplay, and just as it's getting good, armor shows up and ruins it.![]()
I'd also like to see Rangers replace Airborne, and Delta replace the Green Berets. I honestly think a SOCOM doctrine/reward faction would be amazing. I realize that's a lot of work, but I have always wanted to see that in an RTS. That's not really even a suggestions, just an idea I've liked. Maybe I'll learn how to mod, and come up with one.
Nah marines get javelin... on the rest for the name changes I'm all for it. Although I think the airborne already are the rangers if I am not mistaken. I might be confusing it with blizkrieg though

Re: Balancing US
OR we could just replace MARSOC with Recon. Both get airborne training and Recon is a little more on par with 101st. Plus Recon would me much more suitable for that doctrine and gameplay

I personally wouldn't mind reducing their health a little (1 Marine squad currently has more overall HP than either Riflemen or Regulars) and maybe increasing their build time a bit. Possibly nerfing the M16A4 as well (it's currently WAY more powerful than the M4). For starters.

I don't really have anything against him being T2 (with the current 5-man Riflemen squads anyway), but in all honesty I don't like the way his camo works. I don't think he should be straight-out worse than both other snipers when he actually comes into play later.

Actually we have a new gamemode in the works that I think you might like...
SnowBlaZeR2 wrote:I'd also like to see Rangers replace Airborne, and Delta replace the Green Berets.
Rangers maybe, but I doubt Delta. Special Forces were chosen because they have both the numbers and the role of the squad we needed in-game. If Delta show up anywhere, it'll probably be a campaign mission. Assuming our SP SCAR guy ever comes back...

A whole faction of special operations troops?...

MARSOC in 1.015 have been updated. They now have access to either a Corpsman or the M32 grenade launcher.

I just want to point out that the balancing for Blitz mod is horrible and all over the place, and using that mod as any kind of balance standard is a big mistake.

What do you mean blitzkrieg, only thing I got from it was the slit trenches and the demo charges able to be manually detonated. Although I think those thigns are from vanilla version too. I've never mentioned unit strengths from blitzkrieg

I know we use them, I just didn't think the Marines had them in the game. I never build them anyways, so maybe I just didn't notice.

I wouldn't mind the health thing either. If anything, they should be a little faster, less prone to suppression, more accurate, longer range, etc. We use the same body armor and bleed the same blood the Army does, so I don't know why they get a health buff. The M16A4 should be more accurate than the M4, and maybe a little more powerful as well. I don't know how much more powerful it is though.

I can't argue with that. I never really got why he couldn't camo unless he was in cover, but he's still camo when he leaves cover? It's a little weird, I agree.

Nice. Any info you can give about that?

Most of the SF teams I worked with were a 6 man team, so I don't know what you mean by the numbers. I don't know, it's your mod. I'm just throwing stuff out there. Delta would be fun to have, and useful.
I_am_a_Spoon wrote:A whole faction of special operations troops?...
Correct. I don't expect to ever see it happen, but that would be fun to play.

I wish this slow Internet would hurry up and download it, I can't wait to play. Do the SEALs still wear boonies? Always thought that was a little strange as well. If the American flag was removed, the boonies should go as well.

That picture shows why the carl gustav is awesome... or the smaw whatever. That thing is huge. Although the way the missile travels and hits is different, but jesus that thing is big. You could probably carry a few Carl's shells or smaw tubes instead...

Re: Balancing US
That, my friend, is a Javaline.
Very effective versus tanks.
The Cark Gustav is the weapon the Airborne and MARSOC can get. Damn, if you haven't tried that with a vet 3 offesnive veterancy squad, then you're not seeing it's full potential.
