Well, this forum doesn't have lots of active members, the same problem was with BSS forum. I think we all know the reasons: MC was released pretty late and CoH2 is on the horizon. But I hope some people will still play CoH1 anyway.

I think CoH2 is not the major reason, because if it is, Eastern Front should be dead long time ago.
I think we need some new idea, especially which can bring new experience.
Sino-American war in modern era is a very attractive idea, and still have many interesting points awaiting to be discovered.
Hardcore mode and Marine faction are both good beginning, and both works well.

I think it doesn't have many members simply because there's a free beta of a new game (obviously CoH2) out right now. :P

Also, perhaps there just isn't enough advertising about this forum. I'm on the Eastern Front forum and sure, it does have a lot of members, but the only bit of activity I see there is mainly in the dev part of it.

Yep, even EF mod has lost its activity in their forum.

Remember that CoH was released in 2006 and it's obvious that there's not lots of people playing it. And remember that maybe 80-90% of people don't know about mods for CoH.

I've been playing the open beta the last few days, and was out on mission before that. CoH2 looks very promising, and I'm already looking for to the mods for it.

I too am waiting for the new patch. I've given my major bits of input for suggested changes (rather than additions) to keep it simple. PLA really needs access to more upgrades/activated abilities on a per-unit basis though.

Well, a lot of the PLA's units can get lots of doctrinal abilities and upgades, like the Assault Rifles from The Future is Now. They also get molotovs with Asymetrical Warfare - which is really nice for burning out Americans from buildings. ;)

The Tank Hunters can also get double RPG-7s, pretty good in Standard mode and downright deadly in Hardcore. The Javalin teams just don't match up at close range.

However PLA units never take advantages from veterancy...This seems really disappointing.
