Balance/Change Suggestions

Lower damage on missile trucks
Lower javalin squad deployment times
Raise time re-camo times between sniper shots a little bit
Raise range a bit on US mortar tanks
Raise man power regen as any unit can be destroyed almost instantly
Raise cost on apache
Make engineers actually throw demo charges instead of placing them
Raise limit on main battle tanks to 2
Raise manpower cost on all vehicles (or lower squad man power) since they are the same.
Raise range on MG nests a tad

Also add new factions? :D maybe UK and North Korea?

Everything is nice, but why you want this changes? Have you played games with players to judge the balance? If you're making suggestions, try also making some proofs according to PvsP games.

Also add new factions? maybe UK and North Korea?

Simply answer: NO. Why? Because the team doesn't have enough manpower to do this. But you can be sure we got something in mind.

Javelin, deploying faster?... I'm in
Snipers lasting longer out of camo?... hmm not usre
Raise man power regen... on HC sure
Range... YES, US doesn't have artillery beyond the paladin... though mortars should be artillery per say... anyways, point is this is due to lack of US artillery outside the paladin.
Apache... duno I dont use it.

Dont engineers already throw the charges anyways?... I like them to place them instead... well I like them to do both. Throw them if in a hurry or place the charges for a nice ambush. So this one your worng, engies already throw them.
Actually lower the limit of the PLA lol might make it more fare, or make both factions a fair limit.
Raise man power on vehicles?... heck no, I already have trouble fielding my anti tank LAv's or Strykers with missile anti tank weaponry to offset the PLA spamming their tank hunters

MG nest increase range?... well if you reduce their accuracy sure. I dont really mind the MG's range at this point though.

I have, ive been playing against my friend, and when I get a decent army or group going rockets wipe me out and mortars destroy my infantry drawing my mortar tanks closer and then getting them destroyed by AT. Everything is pretty balanced other than the Artillery.

MLRS vehicles will be shuffled around a bit next patch.

HeroicLarvy wrote:Lower javalin squad deployment times

So they come out of the T2 building faster?

HeroicLarvy wrote:Raise time re-camo times between sniper shots a little bit

Why do you want that? You're supposed to have to track them down.

HeroicLarvy wrote:Raise range a bit on US mortar tanks

The reduced range is similar to the vCoH mortar halftrack's, it's to compensate for the vehicle's greater mobility and responsiveness. There has to be a tradeoff for the sake of balance.

HeroicLarvy wrote:Raise man power regen as any unit can be destroyed almost instantly

In hardcore or normal gamemodes? Not much can insta-kill something in standard MC.

HeroicLarvy wrote:Raise cost on apache

Why's that? It's already an end-tree ability that costs 175 munitions.

HeroicLarvy wrote:Make engineers actually throw demo charges instead of placing them

They already do. Am I missing something?

HeroicLarvy wrote:Raise limit on main battle tanks to 2

Possibly, although I don't make the final call.

HeroicLarvy wrote:Raise manpower cost on all vehicles (or lower squad man power) since they are the same.

Vehicles (aside from ATVs and Humveees) have additional fuel costs. They require a whole additional resource to buy.

HeroicLarvy wrote:Raise range on MG nests a tad

They're currently the same range as in vCoH. Do they need to be longer?

HeroicLarvy wrote:Also add new factions? :D maybe UK and North Korea?

Not possible unfortunately due to manpower constraints, but like Dzierzan said we're working with what we have... ;)

Trackilitious

hmmm I give you that one. Still freacking fire rocket artillery... hate it!

Oh wow...

HeroicLarvy wrote:Make engineers actually throw demo charges instead of placing them

Maybe you can make them set them too? :P... have that nice ambush point on the bridges. Invulnerable to being detonated by explosions, only EOD kit can get them out. ANd BLAM blow the crap out of the bridge :P Surprise!.

Well, IF IF, you decide to do something like this, my friends have asked for different factions but I've explained due to "story" constraints they wouldn't make sense. I know this game isn't an rpg, or lore based, but your... "back story" to the Chinese American war was really nice. So if you do put other factions, it would be nice if you work a nice little backstory as to why they got involved in the end.

Specially given within your backstory you stated the US deployed and made based close to NK exactly to dissuade them from getting involved. Not to mention from within the story I dont see how anyone would have the stomach to get involved except those hit by the EMP.

It wouldn't be too difficult to write any number of countries into the story.

Well just saying given he suggested... well my friends have also said the british. For some reason different people want the british.

but the most likely to join are countries within the pacific region.

Japan... although that would mean a change to their defense force pact.

Australia, they are rising to be the 2nd most powerful Navy, plus China hates them for it

South Korea... EMP had to do something to them

India... god India is a prime target to join in. If the Chinese are facing the US, India is more than likely to carve a path through the East.
-------------------

Personal Opinion however... and I stress again this isn't an rpg... I just like good stories :P. But from a story point of view, I find it hard to put other factions. The US and China are already "toe to toe" with each other. From a story perspective China is in a last ditch effort to make the US pay for the invasion. Not to mention:
A- they dont have friends
B- After the US (story) release the hacking files, they now have real enemies
C- Anyone joining in would kind a... dissolve that feeling that the US and China are at each other's throats. As in from a story point of view anyone joining the game would spell Chinese troubles.

And the more and I write the more I think you should just not put a story at all...adding factions without a story and claiming "these factions are added for fun, and are not part of the story" might be a better story lol.

Anyways just my 98 cents :P

The Brits are our closest allies, and writing them into any story would be very easy. Australia would also be very easy, and I think more fun. Everyone always adds the UK, so I say Australia is due. Even Canada could work, but I don't know if there's enough there to make a whole new faction.

As far as enemies, there is no shortage of countries that would oppose us in any war, given the right timing and circumstances.

I like to think it's only due to the workload, not the story lines.

Well, Canada... yeah no no...like the family guy hispanic maid...no...no no.

Aussies would work into it very well. They are in the region and I rarely see them on anything. Plus they are the closest to have any sort of force projection, the Brits have been cannibalizing their navy since the 80's. Even today it would be near impossible for them to defend the Faulkand Islands, let alone deploy on a moments notice to China. Aussies would be awesome.

Thing about any countries, is... is this "total" war, or are these battles simply waged outside major civilian centers. Now true, countries might be willing to butt in, but then that spells a domino effect.

The more i think about it, the US being unable to restrain NK... or the NK loosing ground and retreating to reinforce the counterattack, And of course the Aussies.

Dont really see any country beyond Aussies having the guts to go against China... that would't cause a domino effect of course. I mean there is India... but their cousins to the west aren't exactly stable :P
