Everyone always adds the UK, so I say Australia is due. Even Canada could work, but I don't know if there's enough there to make a whole new faction.

As far as enemies, there is no shortage of countries that would oppose us in any war, given the right timing and circumstances.

I like to think it's only due to the workload, not the story lines.

Even North Korea participate in the war, we Chinese abelieves those traitors will work for US cause they will gain more corn and wheat from them.
We China never support terrorists, especially terrorists as neighbours.

Laugh it up, Canada has some of the finest military units in the world. They might not be a good candidate for a whole faction, but some of their units would fit in nicely with what I had in mind for the mod.

Australia and North Korea would be two great additions. The UK is always going to be there, but they are always showing up. It's time for something new. I want to see Australia!

I think it would be similar to what we currently see. There would be a coalition, with the US providing the main force and several other countries (UK, Canada, Australia, etc.) providing additional troops and support. It would make more sense to add them into the current setup, than creating a whole new faction for them. Same thing with China. There is no shortage of countries that would aid them against the United States.

Alot of countries have great military, my point is not to make fun of any country. My point is judging their military infrastructure and their navy to judge whether or not they can sustain a war as horrible as with the chinese. I honestly cannot think of anyone today who has a navy that can sustain their own forces if it would come down to full scale retaliation by the chinese on foreign land, except the US and Australia.

However now that I think about it... the navy is not that much of an issue from the lore the US has achieved naval dominance and air supremacy... although the latter I believe to be debatable otherwise how would 4 million troops move without getting blown to pieces.

I guess MC guys can work it out, if US has naval dominance they can ferry whatever other troops are needed, And given the scenario, I can't think of anyone besides Canada , Japan, SK and Australia to be in the mix. Not with the current EU climate and the drawing down on naval power they are undergoing.

Plus... Canada > Britain any day >P trollishly joking

Anyways, main reason I am against Canada as a faction, is one thing is to support fighting guys in a dress with AK's... another very different is supporting an actual war against a power like China. Still it would be nice to know some countries that were the ones directly targeted by the "hacking" attempts of the chinese. Those might have a grudge of course.

I imagine it would go much the same as the current war. Our Special Operations would pave the way, and once the US was established, we would begin to bring in our allies on a much larger scale. Maybe not enough to justify a new faction, but enough to justify adding them into SOCOM. :)

As you pointed out, it's not that far fetched for most of our allies to join the fight through established means, or our own Navy.

Have you ever fought against guys in a dress with AKs? They are a lot tougher than they look. The Canadians and Australians are out here doing it right now, and I think in this fictional setting, it's believable that they'd do the same.

I was playing around on the game, and this has little to do with balance, but a few things I noticed:

1. I renamed the Corpsman for the MARSOC teams SARC. Those guys go through a lot to get to the teams, and they are more than Corpsmen. Also, I'm on the fence about the IFAK. Yes, Corpsman are supposed to use the wounded Marine's own IFAK, but most of the Corpsmen I know go straight to their own bag because it's already set up. That's a little nit picky, I understand, but just throwing it out there. I can't say it enough though, fantastic job with the Corpsmen. It adds a very fun element to the game.

2. Why do the SEALs have boonies? They don't wear those on mission. If anything it would be a ball cap from their favorite team. I really like the models for the GBs and MARSOC, but the SEALs just seem strange to me. I know you have to make them different, but to do that, I'd just change what they wear as opposed to their gear. Could also add NOD mounts to their helmets as well.

3. The fact that riflemen with 7.62 are destroying my HMMWVs drives me nuts. I suggested the M-ATV in the Wish List thread, but I don't see that happening.

4. One other thing I'd like to see is an ability to break suppression. Is that already present somewhere any I'm missing it? At least for the more elite units. MARSOC, GBs, SEALs...I hate that they get pinned down so easily and your options are to let them die or retreat.

2) Simply to distinguish them from the GBs and MARSOC

3) If we made bullets unable to penetrate we would have to change the balance around a lot, and you would lose your early sniper counter

4) From a balance perspective that is pretty much game changing. You can pretty much negate any MG defenses the enemy has, making HMGs pretty much redundant.

That... that is awesome idea. Not sure if SOCOM is on the business of taking entire towns though like MC... Still that would be awesome. Hat little hats for the aussies :P... lol jkjk

That's kind of what I thought. Are these SEALs supposed to be from DEVGRU, or just from the other teams? Either way, adding NODs to their helmets, beards, civilian clothing etc. would be very good ways to set them apart realistically. Although I don't know if they'd be sporting the beards in China.

Maybe add in the IFAV, DPV or RSOV at Tier 1, and the M-ATV at Tier 2? MARSOC also uses heavily modified Polaris MRZRs.

Yeah, I'm not so good at the balancing things, haha. It still annoys me. ;)

SOCOM is definitely in the business of taking whole towns, provinces and regions. If SOCOM was running this war, we'd be gone by now.

Yes, I think the Australian SAS needs to find their way into this game, along with several other units.

Ok now I sure as hell now you've played Endwar lol.

QUestion I always been meaning to ask someone that knows... if you played Endwar, the JSF, is that like SOCOM? is socom a branch? although they get whatever they ask. But not sure what is the difference between SOCOM and a normal "branch" of the military.
