Re: Wish List
Maybe if they will have infantry only battles then that would be useful otherwise SOCOM is just to overpowered.
Keep in mind that Delta Force Operatives are previously Ranger or Green Beret Operatives.

How would they be overpowered against armored infantry vehicles, but not other infantry? They would be as vulnerable as any other infantry, maybe with a little more health and accuracy. I'm not suggesting they be able to call in an airstrike that levels the entire enemy base. I think the special operations doctrine idea would work out. SOCOM as a whole faction might take a little more effort to be balanced.
Delta operators aren't just Rangers and SF, but a progression of units is never a bad thing in a game like this. Make that team expensive, cap it at one or cost several command points. Even a combination of all of those.
At any rate, I don't really believe this would ever come about. It was mostly just a fun idea, and maybe give some new ideas for anything the devs want to do with their mod.

Re: Wish List
Modular Head Protection Systems
Next Generation of Combat Helmets include configuration for up to full face helmets that can be used on both factions.
Apparel
Night Vision Googles, Breathing Equipment, Stun/Incediary/Flash Grenades, tinted combat glasses(oakley sunglasses with splitter/bullet resistance).
Facecoverings
Both factions could have selected units to use some sort of facecover like ski mask(, fire resistance, freeze protection), scarf/headwrap(Scout Sniper Spotter), berets(Berets/Kopassus), boonie hats(SEALs), baseball caps(Ranger), ProTec(Delta), balaclavas(chinese - dragon, snake, terracotta army, cursed samurai; americans - skulls, jolly roger, predator animals).
Ethnics/Hair Variations including beards.
Weaponry
SCAR Mk17 Variants for SEALs
Those were the most favoured weapon during their extensive testing period in terms of firepower/accuracy/handling.
H&K M416 for Delta Operators
These appear with modern benefits over the american built M Series, including weather condition resistance and gas operated chambers.
Weapon Customizations
Grips, Attachments(flashlight, laser, optics, masterkey)
AMR-2
Like the Barrett, huge caliber to be able to attack vehicles
T93 Sniper Rifle System
Lightweight Sniper Rifle, similar to the M24 for Marine Units
JS 7.62
Common Sniper Rifle that was designed to lose weight whereever possible, pretty much like an DMR but not as straight forwarded as an M14 or the QBU-88.
Vehicles
AH-1W „SuperCobra“ of USMC
Beeing set as the new standard helicopter these sure would fit into the new series for Marine Call-in
Wuzhuang Zhisheng 10 Assault Helicopter
Instead of the Z-10A Variant PLA should receive the denied by US protested Pratt&Whitney PT6C-76C Engines. Making it fearsome for armor.
ZBL09
Would fill the counterpart role to the LAV of the US.
WZ551
Much like the Stryker Multiple Variant Vehicle, it is customizable to any situations
ZFB05 XinXing
Armored Scout Car
Hicom HMUV
Chinese Variant of the Humvee
Abilities
Green Berets
They're able to speak 15 languages, that makes overwatch over terretories more easy as local civilian interactions give them information about activity in buildings.
Selected units were chosen because they're able to survive over a long period of time in a hostile to life area. Unconventianel tactics makes them able to set up traps like no other. As they call themselves quiet professionals they have the ability to take out an enemy with thrown knives ability. Their favour for the weakened with their slogan "de opresso liber" gives them valuable assistance from locals.
Navy SEALs
Known as experts at Sea, Air and Land, they're not negatively influenced by river crossings and can camo in it and move on river with zodiac kevlar boats(must be a 4 man squad to prepare).
This confirms their reknown for beeing able to get near large fighting forces without beeing spotted like no other unit can do.
Delta Force Operatives
Beeing selected often from not profanitive soldiers, many of them were former Ranger or Berets. They operate in any conditions(Jungle, Desert, Mountains, Arktic and at Sea). Used as Antiterror Unit in Conflict Regions, they excell from their training in exchange programs with global Counter Terrorism Units. Portrayal would be similar to the ones that operate with Aviation Insertions from the Nightstalkers but in a slightly more modern approach. That concludes Blackhawks would be armed with Minigun personal and Littlebirds with either hydra rocketlaunchers or benches for quick insertion. Beeing skilled professionals in cleaning buildings they'd be best used in urban environment.
Kopassus
Beeing the best special unit of Asia, their political influence garantues resource supplies from the region. Consisting of Red Berets, military reserves are at high stake resulting in faster deployment of units.
SASR
Specialized on strategic overwatch and commandoactions, their all around abilities makes them a valuable reconnasaince unit that is trained to take out enemies in their own environment with ease.
Unit is best used in enemy sectors, can be equiped with sniper equipment and works best in wildness region. Weakness in Urban(buildings).
PLA
Ex-Militaries
Mobilizes Former Chinese Militaries back into service, in a grown society this becomes the next red flood. Squad size of 8+ and a mixed weaponry including many "russian cold war" chinese plagiates. Has the abilities to defend their homeland with eager and courage.
Asian Seperatists
Includes various forces from near asian countries that were either against american warfare or join the chinese because they're unsatisfied with own government. These include koreans, indonesians and japanese legionaries that've experience in selfdefense(don't think about Kung Fu and Taekwondo although it'd be cool), they're able to magnify in jamming american systems with hack attacks(vehicle ineffectiveness - stuttering on fuel systems or inaccuracy on aiming because anything on those are nowadays computer assisted) and wrong informations(shadow copies of units makes the US believe there are more units as there really are - places a dummy unit into a house that makes it occupied for a limited time/until further recon)
PLA Marines
Expanditure in the Naval Forces would make them a similar expeditionary force as the USMC.

Unit: M252 81mm mortar team
Place in Tech Tree: Replace the mechanized mortar carrier in the USMC faction
Reason for the unit: I saw this point mentioned earlier in the thread, and I agree- the USMC is/should be a faction oriented toward infantry, and replacing the mechanized mortar carrier with a foot-slogger infantry crew would be a good step in that direction and would help the USMC's playstyle develop further away from the Army's. Plus, compared to 81mm mortars, which I read are in standard use in USMC weapons platoons, I hear next to nothing about the use of 120mm mortars in the Marine Corps.
Also, I heartily second this.
EDIT: if it's not in the works already, replacement of the Apache and Blackhawk in the USMC faction by skins/models of the AH-1Z Viper and the UH-1Y Venom

Reason for the unit: Recon Marines and their missions are more closely related to the 101st in the Army's Air Supremacy Doctrine than MARSOC is. They can parachute or fast ropes (which is a badass animation good job)(but use huey instead of blackhawk IF possible). MARSOC should replace Navy Seals since they too, are also closely related and it is indeed in fact THE MARINE CORPS
Also, I heartily second this.

The M224A1, a 60mm mortar, would be more appropriate for an infantry oriented style of gameplay. We used those on patrols more than any other mortar system. Also, the M327, 120mm, is in use more these days, so it's not out of the question for that to be used. I'd go with the M224A1 though for an infantry role. It's more likely to be seen as part of an infantry company/platoon. The M252 is typically dedicated to a mortar platoon.
The Zulu and Huey would be a welcome addition.

Thanks for that clarification.
Also, is there an appropriate vehicle that should replace the Bradley in the USMC faction, or is the LAV meant to be its functional replacement?

Well, far as I know the modern US military, the Bradley is the general APC. I can't think of another vehicle to replace it, unless you'd want to go back to Vietnam to get that M113.

Re: Wish List
That is the problem with the US for this game. There is no mid tier tank. Its either an APC like the bradley or a heavy tank like the M1A2

Re: Wish List
Perhaps an older tank could be used, like the M60 Patton? It's a REALLY old tank by this time in the mod (it was decommisioned in 1997), but it's a "good" equivlent to the chinese tanks.
Or, what about a straight-up M1 Abrams? With the 105mm gun, it's obviously not as powerful as the M1A2 Abrams with the 120mm. It could also lack the reactive armor (I believe) both of the Abrams in the mod have.

In fact, if US really invades China, they will need medium tanks or light tanks, because the northern part of China is filled with hills, and southern part is filled with muddy paddy - which both are nightmare for over-50-ton MBTs. This is exactly why PLA uses 40-ton ZTZ-96A more widely than 50-ton ZTZ-99 series.
As for light and medium tanks, M8 AGS and M60A3 Patton are both available choice.
82nd Airborne Division ordered 5 M8 AGS for field test in 2005, and it showed a good performance.
US have over 12,000 M60 series in storage, they can quickly put into service when needed.
also, here's a picture of M60A3 with reactive armors:
